I've been a fan of almost every Star Trek show that has come about except DS9. However even if they do pull it off, they won't have enough money to keep the head stars of this show in a series meaning it's ultimate failure in the long run. Yet another way to try and boost their franchise, they haven't understood yet it's not all about the CGI, dialogue and character go a long way.

as far as i can tell the franchise is "sunk," and anything that can be done to get it floating again is a great thing. i have a bad feeling the CGI is going to be overdone, but that applies to almost any movie made today. i just hope this new movie can create renewed interest in the franchise as a whole.

well i find just the trailer was a failure and its going to be marked as such.. ive seen dozens of start trek shows and countless other si fi shows and movies to tell you that this is most definately a new phantom of the menace or some ep 3 from star trek.. it will suck... oh hey anyone really catch the sub plot? well from the trailer its the original star trek crap but with teens... well they act more like pre teens... has star trek gone disney on us? like im completely confused as to why star trek would involve a harry potter theme into this stuff.. and i doubt that it will be any good because i doubt that these new characters will act like the original series cast in any way... also to note the whole set for the star trek bridge is well way way more advanced than what was in the original series... so im at a loss for words as to how low this movie has gone. 18 year old kirk well i think that character is more the age of 13 or something. I would rather have a movie from ds9 or voyager than a.. oh how many movies has the original series and tng have between them now... im to lazy to count but come on move on star trek get rid of the old and start with something new...

im all for a ds9 movie or a voyager movie... will it happen.. well not after this stunt. oh by the way i doubt theres a new movie going to be about the enterprise the newest tv show.. i think that was cancelled i dont remember it was that bad... if this pre dates that.. well i have to admit that show made its space ship in a space dock.. why didnt this movie? more really bad epic stuff.. that ship wouldnt make it out of the gravity well if it was designed to.. its too big.. no landing gear and no external thrusters to manouver and keep it level... i feel bad for Gene Roddenberry.. his wondefull star trek work has been epic untill the newer series of movies and tv shows.

Well i for one am eagerly waiting for the movie,despite what other naysayers are muttering.
As to the ship being built on earth,i seem to remember from an earlier Novel that part of the ship was built on earth,and part was built in space,the final assembly being done in space dock.
As to the survival of this upcoming movie and the hoped for "New Franchise" that will all depend on the "Big Wigs" insatiable thirst for quick cash.
Possibly,after all is said and done,the dream may light the flame once more.
I know that i,along with many others of the old guard will send all our best wishes for success to the Cast and Crew of the New(old)Trek.

I was wondering if you ever considered changing the layout of your blog? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say.
